FESTIVE tunes playing in shops and sparkling Christmas trees are already popping up all over Blackpool.

It can only mean one thing – Yuletide is nearly upon us and to celebrate, The Gazette has teamed up with the Winter Gardens to ask young readers to draw a decorated Christmas tree.

Sue Bentley, promotions manager for The Gazette, said: “Your Christmas tree drawing can be as colourful and creative as you want with tinsel, glitter, and sparkling baubles.”

A special supplement featuring the top Christmas tree drawings will appear in The Gazette and readers will be asked to vote for their favourite.

The judging panel will then select the overall winner who will win a mega art pack plus a family ticket for four to Blackpool’s biggest New Year’s Eve family party at the Empress Ballroom, in the Winter Gardens, from 7pm to 1am on Monday, December 31.

A spokesman for the Winter Gardens said: “There will be children’s entertainment, live music, fun and games, prize competitions and much more all in a safe, family orientated environment.”

Send your picture on an A4 portrait sheet of paper with your name, age, address and telephone number on the back to The Gazette Decorate a Christmas Tree, The Gazette, Avroe House, Avroe Crescent, Blackpool.

The closing date for entries is Monday, December 10.

Usual Gazette competition terms and conditions apply.
