95% of Blackpool GP practices '˜good'

Some 95 per cent of Blackpool GP practices were rated as good or higher by the Care Quality Comission, with 14 per cent rated as outstanding.

All 18 of Fylde and Wyre GP practices were rated ‘good’ by the Care Quality Commission, placing Fylde and Wyre CCG in the top 20% nationally.

Dr Amanda Doyle, a Blackpool GP and chief clinical officer at NHS Blackpool CCG, said: “We’re really proud of the quality of local GP services, we’ve worked hard over the last few years to make sure local people have access to high quality care.

“We work closely with practices across the town to keep on developing the care they provide so we take these ratings very seriously and if there is ever room for improvement highlighted by the inspectors we make sure those improvements are made.”
