1,500 sign up for Bubble Run
The Bubble Rush is attracting people of all ages – from primary school to pensioners – and could eclipse last year’s Colour Splash.
Linzi Young, head of fund-raising at the hospice, which turns 21 this year, said: “It’s the Fylde Coast’s first big Bubble Rush and we’ve been overwhelmed with the level of enthusiasm.

“A number of our hospice staff will be taking part, and we are all looking forward to a few of hours of very foamy fun.”
Entries are still open for the 5k running event, which will take place from noon on Saturday, April 1 on Lawson’s showground. Those taking part can ‘run, dance, walk, or skip’ around the course as they head through four coloured bubble stations.
They will pump out bubbles made from milkshake, covering runners’ white T-shirts – which they will be given before they start – in an array of colours.
Medals will be awarded to participants at the end.

They include the Wiggle Trailblaze, which will be held in partnership with St Catherine’s Hospice in Preston at Scorton on Sunday, April 16, and the Beaverbrooks run, which will be held on Sunday, May 7.
A fund-raising ball will also be held in the Tower Ballroom in September.
