The store on Warley Road, which represents a total £320,000 investment, is one of the first in the UK to bear the new Co-op logo.

The re-introduction of the blue clover-leaf logo, which will be rolled-out across the Co-op’s entire business, will provide an ‘iconic but contemporary identity’, connecting the Co-op with its heritage and its new members.

The new premises will offer an in-store bakery range, ATM and a focus on fresh food meal ideas and essentials.

The store will also highlight its Community Pioneer role where two members of the food store team, James Watson and Ione Clayton, will work to foster involvement in community activities, from local fundraising initiatives to helping to understand and develop solutions to meet community needs, including support for the British Red Cross.

The Red Cross is the Co-op’s new charity partnership which will help to tackle social isolation and loneliness in local communities.

The store has already demonstrated its commitment to the local community by sponsoring a colour station at the Colour Splash event, which took place on July 30.
