Almost 110 new homes are planned for a field in Poulton.
The Strategic Land Ground Ltd wants planning permission for 108 houses to be built off Brockholes Crescent.
The firm also wants to demolish two homes in the street; numbers 61 and 63.
Planners at Wyre Council are now studying documents filed by the company, which have been published online.
Some 12 two-bedroom apartments are planned, as are 71 two and three-bedroom semi-detached mews style homes, three three-bedroom homes, 20 four-bedroom homes, and two five-bedroom homes, plans show.
“Whilst there are existing properties in the vicinity we believe the site is self-contained and within well-defined boundaries and as such there are opportunities for the development to have its own character,” a design and access statement from architectural consultant LMP said.
“It will no doubt be influenced by the existing properties where we feel there are opportunities to take references from, especially where we have properties in close proximity.”
The site was designed with safety in mind, documents in say, with open space there overlooked by homes, as well as the site’s car parks and driveways.
Thirty per cent of the homes will be affordable, papers also revealed.
The apartment building will feature lifts, while some of the homes will be 2.5 and three storeys tall.
The developer said Wyre has a ‘significant shortfall of deliverable housing land supply’, and that Poulton had been ear-marked as a location that would see ‘moderate or significant levels of development’ up to 2031.
It added: “There are very few potential development sites in Poulton-le-Fylde that can make a significant contribution to this housing need.
“The site however forms part of a recognised potential development site, in an urban fringe location, and can therefore make a significant contribution to deliverable housing land supply in Wyre.”
