FREE AND PAID: Lytham Club Day, Saturday 25

The Club Day will start with the parade through the town, from 10.15am, finishing in Westby Street. The Rose Queens will then process down to Lytham Hall ready for the crowning ceremony and entertainment, from 1.30pm. There will be sports events for children, Morris dancing, donkey rides, and traditional stalls. Evening entertainment will be provided by The Ceilidh Band and Steel Band.

Celebrations will be in the town centre and on the Tower Festival Headland, Promenade, with live entertainment, military vehicle displays, competitions and a Spitfire flypast. At 11am on Sunday there is a Cenotaph service and parade followed by the Blackpool Taxi Pull. Events conclude with a military concert at Norbreck Castle Hotel at 7.30pm. Free tickets from the hotel.

PAID: Annual Championship Dog Show, Friday June 24 until Sunday June 26

Blackpool’s 77th Annual Championship Dog Show takes place at Redwood Park, Pinfold Lane, Inskip, Preston, from 9am until 5pm Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Entry to the show is £10, payable on the day, and there is the chance to see some of the world’s best dogs all under one roof. There will be different judging throughout the day. The event is organised by Blackpool and District Canine Society.

FREE: Grimsargh Field Day, Saturday June 25

The event takes place mainly on the Village Green, but the fancy dress gathers at the Village Hall and the parade sets out from there at 1pm. Activities include a funfair, dog agility, donkey rides, a gymnastics display, bouncy castle, dog shows and brass bands.

There is also a tea tent and the famous field day barbecue. Families can also take part in the scarecrow competition, with the theme good, bad and the ugly.

PAID: Blackburn Cathedral Flower Festival, Thursday June 23 to Sunday June 26

The four-day event boasts thousands of flowers, giant structures and mechanics. On Friday, jazz and blues band Tipitina play at the Secret Garden gig. The following day, Blackburn transforms into a nature-themed festival with international street artists; Great British Bake Off winner Nadiya Hussain, will sign her book and I Fagiolini will perform. PAID: The 7th Annual Fylde Vintage and Farm Show, Saturday and Sunday June 25 and 26

Families are invited to The Show Field, Salwick Road, Wharles, near Kirkham, for an array of vintage and classic cars, tractors, land rovers, military vehicles, and steam engines. Animal displays include the Dog and Duck, birds of prey and bee keeping. Other entertainment includes a fairground, a craft and food marquee, tractor balancing, Punch and Judy, Wigan Ukulele Band and a Man Vs Chilli eating contest. Nico from Freddie and the Dreamers and comedy vocalist Roy Jolly perform on Saturday. Admission: £9 for adults, £3 for children and £22 family ticket. Proceeds go to Trinity Hospice.

FREE: Windrush 68 Festival, Penwortham, Saturday June 25

The festival, to be held at Vernon Carus cricket ground from noon until 8pm, is a celebration of the Preston’s Carribean culture.

There will be a host of musical entertainment including soloist Stephen Bayliss, reggae bands, soul singers and DJs. There will also be a fashion show with students from Runshaw college, international cuisine and a mini cricket tournament.

PAID: Crafty Vintage at Hoghton Tower, Saturday and Sunday June 25 and 26

Like minded folk can meet, socialise, share ideas and gather inspiration, with a host of classic vintage, collectibles, retro wares, quirky handmade items and fine foods on offer.

There is also a pop up cocktail bar, live music, entertainers, a magician and free face painting. Entry is £2, with free parking. The fair is open at Hoghton Tower from 10am until 5pm.

FREE: West End Festival, Morecambe, Saturday June 25

Cultural group More Music will set up camp in Regent Park from noon until 4pm, hosting a family-friendly event which celebrates the Morecambe community through a day of music, singing, dancing, fun and games.

There are workshops and arts activities for young people, adults and families to take part in.

Entry is free - just turn up on the day.

FREE: Picnic in the Park, Chorley, Sunday June 26

Families are invited to Astley Park from noon until 5pm for an afternoon of fun, hosted by Chorley Council and Rock FM, as Mr Bloom from CBeebies heads to the annual Picnic in the Park. ​There are also performances from children’s entertainers, local bands, singers, and a surprise guest from a popular television reality contest. People can take part in circus workshops, sports, games and orienteering.
