A luxury holiday abroad, a supercar and designer clothes could all be waiting for lucky Darren Hempsall after he won a bespoke £10,000 prize from a chocolate bar.
The 32-year-old, of Wardle Drive, Cleveleys was left ‘speechless’ after he scooped one of Cadbury’s biggest prizes after treating himself to a sweet fix from the vending machine where he works.
I can’t believe that I’ve won it, I still probably won’t believe it until I get the prize
Darren said: “I’m ecstatic, gobsmacked and speechless.
“I can’t believe that I’ve won it, I still probably won’t believe it until I get the prize.”
Darren won the competition last Tuesday, after buying a DoubleDecker. He then entered the code from the inside of the wrapper online to find out he had won.
The liability assessor who works at Slater and Gordon on Sir Frank Whittle Way, in South Shore, added: “My kids are too young to understand what’s going on, but my girlfriend Sara is very excited.”
Darren is one of 100 lucky winners to take one of the tailored big prizes in Cadbury’s “Joynormous Surprise” promotion, which has the value of up to £10,000.
He added: “They will do an interview with me at work on Thursday and the prize I will be given will depend on the answers I give in that interview.
“It could be a holiday for example, anything to the value of £10,000.”
The dad-of-two also said the win came as a shcok because he has never won a competition like this before and hopes to take his family on a holiday abroad.
“I would quite like a holiday as my prize. Anywhere, just out of this country.
“I would also like to win driving lessons,” he added.
As well as the 100 prizes with the maximum value of £10,000, entrants are also in with a chance of winning one of the 19,900 prizes with the maximum value of £500. There is also a chance to win a prize worth £5,000.
Codes can be found in promotional packs of Dairy Milk, Twirl, Crunchie, Wispa, Wispa Gold, DoubleDecker, Starbar or Boost chocolate bars.
The main promotion closes Monday, November 30.
