Over the Easter holidays, we had a family day out at Stockeld Park, Wetherby.

For those of you who have never visited the Yorkshire attraction, it is a privately-owned 2,000-acre agricultural estate complete with adventure zones appealing to children and adults.

Perfectly set in beautiful woodland, activities include roller skating, jumping pillows, a giant inflatable slide, chopper go-karts, electric scooters and an ice-cream parlour.

Glorious sunshine over Easter ensured we had a great start to the day. We arrived at 1pm and, despite it being very busy with youngsters, and their families who had travelled from far and wide, there were no queues.

We began on the Enchanted Forest trail, which was very well thought out with adventure after adventure for children. My toddler son, who is two-and-a-half, enjoyed one play area after another – all conveniently equipped with swings, slides and many other fun-filled activities for all ages.

There were plenty more things to look at and places to explore. The sand play area was fantastic. We took a picnic and were able to enjoy watching the kids run, bounce, climb and pedal all day. In addition, there was a giant egg hunt, hopping Bunnies, Little Bo Peep, and an opportunity to watch in wonder the hatching eggs.

Bearing in mind its size, the place was clean and tidy and the staff very helpful and friendly. Before we left, we decided to enter the maze thinking to ourselves we will complete it in 20 minutes. We ended up lost for more than an hour, but did manage to eventually find the middle!

We finished our day by visiting the ice-cream parlour and indoor play zone. Stockeld Park also has a delightful Gift Emporium filled with treats. The great thing about Stockeld is they have invested a lot of money in high quality play areas for the kids, so there is a lot to do and see. At £12 for an individual pass (adult or children) or £42 for a family pass, I can truly say Stockeld Park has something for everyone and is brilliant value for money.
