He said: “I come back to Blackpool once a year to see my parents and other family, so it was really nice to return to the first salon I worked in, even if it was just for one night only.”

Born in Blackpool, Anthony lived in Caunce Street until he was 21 before setting off to pursue his dream.

The former St Mary’s High School pupil joined David Maria Hair Studio, which is now Olivia Knowles, before attending Blackpool hairdressing school, Hubert James International, where he won student of the year.

Anthony said he enjoys travelling the world as part of his job and he has visited every state in the US through his work but says there is nowhere like home.

He said: “I always read The Gazette online even though I am so far away from Blackpool. I like to know what is happening – plus I follow Blackpool FC.”

The logo for his company is inspired by his beloved club’s tangerine colours and he even sells an orange comb through the academy’s website.

Anthony said: “When I was a teenager my passion was to get a salon in the town centre and live above it and then I would go and watch matches at Bloomfield Road after I finished work.

“I got my big break at Tony&Guy and I’ve never looked back since. My job is my passion.”
