For most of us, forgetting to pack our costume when we go swimming is our worst nightmare.

But, for the 100 naturists who took to the slides and rides at Blackpool’s Sandcastle Waterpark on Saturday evening, that was precisely their intention.

The attraction was hired out to British Naturism for its members to enjoy free of the binds of clothing and according to the organisation’s national volunteers coordinator, Kevin O’Connor, it’s something everyone should try once.

He said: “We just do exactly the same things that anybody else does but we choose to do it without clothes.

“We like to go swimming and not have to sit around in full wet costumes.

“It’s a very liberating experience, you’ve got to try it.”

Members of the organisation also visited the Bierkeller German pub, on the Promenade, and stayed at the Bond Hotel, on bond Street, South Shore.

It is the fifth year British Natursim has hired out the Sandcastle.

Jane Kelly, the attraction’s market manager, said: “It’s one of the more unusual events in our calendar, but it’s one were delighted to be hosting.

“At first you’re not sure where to look but I’ve found good eye contact is the key, and after a while you kind of forget that they haven’t got any clothes on as our job of ensuring the safety of our guests and that they are having fun is just the same as any other event.

“The people that attend on the night are always so nice to deal with.”
