WHILE jockeys are preparing to take to the ultimate racecourse, thrill-seekers could be riding their own Grand National a little closer to home.

Tomorrow, the day of the Grand National, Blackpool Pleasure Beach will open an hour early to Platinum Pass holders for them to go on the Grand National roller coaster.

Riders can saddle up at the park from 9am and ride the iconic wooden track as many times as they like.

Blackpool Pleasure Beach managing director Amanda Thompson OBE said: “The Grand National is the most famous horse race in the world and the Grand National is an iconic roller coaster, and we wanted to give our Season Pass holders something special on the day of the big race.

“It’s a chance to have the ride to yourself for an hour exclusively and we know how much our wooden heritage coasters mean to (pass holders), so what better way to celebrate it than by having an exclusive ride on one of the best in the business?”

Season Pass holders should report to the Information Desk at 8.45am.
