The charming old postcards were brought in by Memory Lane reader Steve Gomersall, whose great grandmother used to run a boarding house in Shepherd Street, Blackpool.

They would be sent by guests, family and friends from all over the country, and Steve’s relatives collected and kept them.

Some show famous people of the time, some are pictures of family, some are of the Fylde coast and others show different areas of the country.

Among the Blackpool postcards are typical holiday scenes, such as Blackpool Tower and the Great Wheel, the Empress Ballroom and the old Raikes Parade gardens.

Other local sights featured include Bispham post office, Norbreck, Poulton and Lytham.
