Two more weeks of misery for Fylde coast drivers
Wet, sandy ground has meant that work to improve drainage at Clifton Drive North has taken longer than expected.
Lancashire County Council workers had hoped to complete the work during half term to minimise tailbacks but their excavations have been hampered.

Hide AdDrivers endured misery at the junction of Clifton Drive North and Highbury Road, St Annes last month while a three way temporary traffic light system was in place. Now the resumed works will have a two way temporary system.
Harvey Danson, area highways manager, said: “We had scheduled these drainage repairs during the schools’ half term holiday while traffic is much lighter, however progress has been slow due to very poor ground conditions and it will take up to two weeks longer to get them finished.
“In the meantime I would ask people to leave more time for their journeys in this area and thank them for their patience which we complete these essential repairs.
“We’re aware of the potential for disruption caused by the need to work in such a busy area, and will be doing all we reasonably can to keep it to a minimum.”
