Daniel Isaacs, 34, from Layton, has challenged himself to run 210km throughout December.

He aims to raise money for FareShare UK, which helps to provide meals for school breakfast clubs, homeless shelters, and community cafes.

Daniel said he was inspired to do this because the coronavirus pandemic has put a massive strain on the financial situation and mental health of lots of people.

Having already raised £280, he is now hoping for more donations so that he can reach his £500 target.

He said: “FareShare is doing an amazing job. Each £1 raised is enough to get up to four meals for a family.

“The fact people might not be able to afford to provide food or necessities for their family is heart-breaking, so I thought if I can do something to help I should.”

He also said that he chose to do this challenge as he wanted to do something that would push boundaries, and therefore people would be more inclined to notice.

Daniel, who works in Tesco on Lytham Road in South Shore, has promised to do whatever it takes to ensure he achieves his running target, including running on Christmas Day.

He added: “I’m hoping to achieve it by running everyday for a minimum 6.7k which would accumulate to 210k for the 31 days I’ll be running during December. I’ll be running every single

day, even Christmas Day, regardless of the weather.”
