A popular spa in Poulton-le-Fylde is taking its luxury services into the community as part of a drive to ensure more people can feel their

benefits.

Spa on the Breck Manager Frances Bowley sees no reason people living in care homes should be deprived of the kind of pampering the YMCA-run facility has been offering for four years.

She said: “I started thinking that perhaps some people could not get out to access our services, so we contacted Primrose Bank Care Home in Poulton..

“We want to get out there and help as many people as possible access our services.Everybody deserves a little bit of pampering.”

It means the Primrose residents now have monthly access to spa treatments that initially resulted from Wyre Council’s reinvesting in leisure strategy; the council approved a £5m investment in 2014 into leisure facilities within the borough.

The investment included the development of Spa on the Breck, located within Poulton Health and Fitness Centre on Breck Road and managed by YMCA Fylde Coast.

The Spa on the Breck team offers several bespoke packages, including pamper days and exclusive hire.

A Twilight Spa Journey also operates Wednesday to Friday.

The relaxing Spa Journey and its 10 complementary experiences range from a spa pool, aromatherapy room, sauna and a steam room which has been designed to relax, purify and revitalise customers on a two-hour journey.

Available in the most exclusive salons and spas throughout the world, Spa on the Breck use Germaine de Capuccini’s therapeutic and rejuvenating products and treatments including facials, massage and luxurious body wraps.

The team have introduced make-up by Mii and a new hair-up range to their already strong portfolio of beauty treatments.

The move into the community began when the team started organising events locally.

Now Primrose Bank residents benefit from monthly visits.

Frances said: “I’d like to go into more care homes, the treatments really work well for them.

“It’s important that the people there are experiencing that little bit of luxury that they might have experienced in the past.

“It’s good for people’s mental health and it fits with the ethos of the YMCA, by committing ourselves to the well-being of local communities."
