New chairman appointed for Fylde and Wyre CCG

NHS Fylde and Wyre Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) has appointed Mary Dowling as chair of its Governing Body.

Mary has spent her professional career working in human resource management within the NHS, including 12 years in NHS hospitals as a director.

She also has considerable experience in non-executive director roles as vice chair and acting chair of a former primary care trust, NHS Cumbria, and as chair and independent director of social housing provider South Lakes Housing.
She has worked with local authorities and the voluntary sector, and is a lay adviser to the North Western Deanery and a non-legal member of Employment Tribunals.
Dr Tony Naughton, the CCG’s clinical chief officer, said: “We are delighted to confirm Mary’s appointment. She brings huge experience and vision to the role of chair of the CCG’s Governing Body. Throughout her career Mary has shown passion and commitment to the NHS and its values as well as the public and voluntary sectors, and we consider ourselves very lucky to have her on board.”
