More good news can be confirmed this morning (April 21), with Blackpool Teaching Hospitals confirming the number of patients discharged after making a full recovery.

It said a total of 121 people have been discharged from Blackpool Victoria Hospital after recovering from COVID-19.

Yesterday, it was confirmed that a total of 85 patients had died in hospital on the Fylde coast after testing positive for the virus.

Five of those deaths had been recorded in the last 48 hours.

The official figures suggest that the survival rate for coronavirus patients in Blackpool stands at 59%, with a death rate of 41%.

A total of 245 cases have been confirmed to date in Blackpool.
