Ee-yaaaaawwww: Donkeys prove a hit at children's hospice

Two four-legged visitors paid a special visit to Trinity Hospice and Brian House Children's Hospice.

Aurra, a 10-year-old donkey, and her friend Charlie, 11, from The Donkey Sanctuary arrived at Brian House in Bispham on Thursday morning where the children enjoyed stroking them and walking them around the Trinity gardens.

Clinical Manager Carol Wylde said: “We always look forward to a visit from the donkeys. They were so well behaved and loved a bit of fuss from the children and staff.

“Our children get so much from interacting with animals, and it is always such a joy to see their faces light up when they are around the donkeys.”

Aurra and Charlie then went onto the In-patient unit at Trinity Hospice, and visited patients in the Day Therapy Unit.

Children at Brian House were also visited by actors from the Starlight Storytellers who put on performances of well-known fairy tales.
