In a poll on the North West Coronavirus Facebook page 92 people said they would wear one with just 17 saying they wouldn't.

There has been mixed messages from the government on the effectiveness of wearing a face mask to stop the spread of coronavirus or limit your chance of catching it, but the public in many European countries choose to wear them.

There are some suggestions that when the lockdown is lifted in the UK, workers may be required to wear face masks at their place of employment.
