A private hospital is offering affordable private GP services with face-to-face appointments at a time to suit you.

Spire Fylde Coast Hospital knows the pressures the NHS system is under, and the stresses that puts on the community of Blackpool and Fylde.

Whether you want a chat about a more minor condition that’s troubling you, or you’re worried your symptoms may need urgent referral, having to wait for a GP appointment causes an extra layer of anxiety.

Now Spire Fylde Coast has introduced its private GP service, where you can book an appointment online or by phone and be seen face-to-face by a fully qualified GP within days.

Dr Farzaneh Mani offers 30 minute appointments with all the usual GP services on offer – including health screening, cholesterol and blood pressure checks, blood and smear tests and more – backed up by the full facilities of the private hospital.

Tracy Jackson, Hospital Director at Spire Fylde Coast, said: “We know that people get anxious if they have to wait too long for a GP appointment. Our affordable service makes healthcare accessible when you need it.

“If you do need additional treatment or investigation, you have the option of following a private healthcare pathway and having those appointments here, often on the same day as your initial consultation. There are numerous conditions that have long waiting lists on the NHS, and Spire Fylde Coast can help you fast-track your way to the help you need.

“For those wanting to stay on the NHS care plan, Dr Mani simply sends her report back to your GP, requesting you are referred for NHS treatment. Everything is shared with your NHS GP, so nothing vital is missed.”

Either way, appointments with Spire Fylde Coast do not impact on your registration with your local NHS practice, and you will remain a patient of theirs for the future.

Spire Fylde Coast offers a range of services beyond its new GP clinic which private patients can use. There are three operating theatres, 27 en-suite bedrooms with satellite TVs, free Wifi and a personal nurse call system. There’s an on-site pharmacy, x-ray department, MRI, CT, mammography and ultrasound services.

The on-site physio department will help you on the road to recovery.

You are able to self-refer for all of the above services, or ask your NHS GP to refer you.
