Young Kirkham sportsmen hit the back of the net

Kirkham Under 11s during their sports tour

Twenty-two Kirkham Grammar Junior School U11s set off early on a three day Sports Tour to the Isle of Man on Friday, February 3.

Our first destination was Liverpool Airport for our 11am flight.

Twenty-three minutes and 51 seconds later we landed in the beautiful Isle of Man!

We were based at King William’s College in Castletown where we were really well looked.

During the three-day tour we played rugby, hockey, netball and football.

We experienced wins, losses and draws against The Buchan School, King William’s College and the Isle of Man teams.

Away from the fixtures, we took part in laser blast, swimming and a local quiz which was based in Castletown.

We all had a wonderful time and, even though we were playing away, almost 30 travelling supporters also made the journey over!

The tour party would like to thank the following parents for providing sponsorship for the purchase of our tour kit which enabled us to look extremely smart: Mr and Mrs Maude, Mr and Mrs Gut, Mr and Mrs Jones, Mr and Mrs Margerison, Mr and Mrs Thompson, Mr and Mrs Kane and Mr and Mrs Cole.

We had such an amazing time on our sports tour to the Isle of Man!
