Students open their eyes to life beyond school at careers event
Four first-year Project Management Apprentices from BAE systems came into school to talk to us about their roles in the company and opportunities for apprenticeships when we leave Rossall.
They were joined by guest speaker Catherine Christian who began as a PM apprentice and has been working for BAE for 10 years; she shared her personal experiences with us and explained how her job role progressed over the time she has spent there.

We got to participate in several activities including a team project which required us to build the tallest tower we possibly could from paper, marshmallows and raw spaghetti alone.
It was great fun and tested our teamwork and building abilities.
We were also given a scenario in which we were stranded in the Atlantic Ocean and had to rank a list of items in terms of survival importance.

Overall, the afternoon was very beneficial as it opened our eyes to numerous prospects that are available to us and was enjoyed by all.
