Winter Gardens latest Blackpool venue to announce temporary closure following coronavirus announcement

The owner of Blackpool's Winter Gardens has announced the venue will close temporarily due to the Government's coronavirus announcement yesterday.

Blackpool Entertainment Company Limited (BECL) announced the temporary closure of The Winter Gardens earlier today and it will be with immediate effect.

Michael Williams, Managing Director of BECL said: “We regret to announce that as today, Tuesday, March 17 that the Winter Gardens will close from 4pm in light of the most recent official government advice.

"We will remain closed until further notice and will re-open as soon as possible, following government recommendations. The safety of our audience and workforce is paramount to us as we look to work our way through these very challenging times. We will remain in contact over the coming weeks to keep everyone up to date as the situation develops."

From Wednesday 18 March the Box Office will be open from 11.00am to 3.00pm on Monday to Friday only for outward telephone calls and no public access will be granted.

Michael added: "We would respectfully request that patrons refrain from calling us at this time as our team are exceedingly busy at present so please bear with us as we work through the rescheduling of shows and events at this challenging time. Customers of shows and events that are affected will be contacted as soon as possible."
