One of Blackpool's bowling alleys will be reopening its doors this week for the first time since lockdown - even though it is listed for sale.

MFA Bowl in Market Street will reopen from midday on Saturday, August 1, despite the bowling alley being put on the market earlier this month.

The 20-lane venue said it will be taking measures to keep customers and staff safe from coronavirus, including more frequent cleaning of high contact points, such as house balls, doors and tabletops.

MFA Bowl in Market Street is currently listed for sale with an asking price of £500,000.

Chartered surveyors Fleurets, who specialise in the 'leisure property sector', are in charge of marketing the 3-storey property which has dual frontage to the Promenade, as well as Market Street.

Just a two-minute walk from Blackpool Tower, the listing boasts of its "excellent central promenade location" and potential for "alternative use subject to planning".

According to the listing, the business has an annual turnover of nearly £500,000 and has a license to sell alcohol seven nights a week until 2am.

The listing says: "Our client, MFA Bowl Group, operate a number of bowling alleys throughout the country. MFA Bowl Blackpool can be sold as a going concern or with vacant possession if a purchaser is looking for alternative use.

"The business operates all year round and our client advises turnover for the years ending March 2018 and 2019 is £480,255 and £489,000.

"Due to the size of the floor areas, together with the dual frontage and excellent location, this property may appeal to a number of alternative uses."
