1. January 2019
Lytham man Bob Attewell rushed to the aid of a man who collapsed at a petrol station who turned out to be the father-in-law of professional footballer Paul Gallagher, a Scotland international who plays for Preston North End.
2. February 2019
February was the month we asked if Birch Way in Poulton was the luckiest street on the Fylde coast. Thats because six neighbours on the road were handed cheques totalling 210,000 after a massive win on the Postcode Lottery.
3. March 2019
The resort welcomed royalty on a rainy day back in March, Prince William and his wife, the Duchess of Cambridge, arrived at Blackpool Tower and greet members of the public on the Comedy Carpet.
4. April 2019
In April, The Gazette reported on the tragic news that a former Blackpool Vic doctor was among more than 300 people killed in a terror attack in Sri Lanka. Dr Sally Bradley, 56, was killed in a series of bombings on Easter Sunday.
5. May 2019
The world-famous Blackpool Tower celebrated its 125th birthday in May. An action packed programme of events was planned to mark the occasion with former staff members and the public invited to the festivities.
6. June 2019
It was the month Blackpool FC fans had been waiting for. After years of protests June saw a new man take charge. Businessman Simon Sadler said it was a great honour and privilege as he bought a 96.2 share in the club.
