Home and HQ in Talbot Square closed early in January with management saying the venture was "no longer a viable business" in its current form.

However, a statement hinted at hopes of replacing it with a three-roomed superclub.

Now an application has been made to Blackpool Council's licensing department to vary the premises licence by making some changes to the layout of the building.

These include a new DJ unit at ground floor level, new fixed seating and the removal of a bar, providing a new external smoking area and putting in a new internal staircase linking the ground floor with the first floor.

The licence holder is Nordwind Developments Ltd which bought the company name as well as the venue from previous owners Mike and Sandra Nordwind when they sold the club in August 2019.

The current director is Cheltenham-based James Elias.

Home and HQ opened in 2016 following a £1.5m refurbishment of premises previously occupied by the Rumours nightclub, but closed on Wednesday January 8.

Any interested parties who wish to comment on the licence application must contact the council's licensing service by February 10.

If valid objections are made, the council will hold a town hall hearing to determine the application.
