Opening date confirmed for new McDonald's restaurant and drive-thru in Cleveleys

An opening date has been confirmed for the new McDonald's situated in Morrisons car park, Cleveleys.

The new restaurant and drive-thru will open on August 12, after missing its expected opening date of April due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Plans to build on the site were initially rejected by Wyre Council, who feared noise and air pollution for nearby residents.

But it was overturned by a planning inspector who said that with mitigation measures, it would have a negligible effect on neighbours.

The new restaurant has created between 100 and 120 part-time and full time jobs.

A spokesman for McDonald's UK said: "All being well, we are excited to welcome customers to our new Cleveleys restaurant on August 12.

"We look forward to bringing great food to our customers and creating new jobs for local people."
