Taylor's of Cleveleys bakery on Anchorsholme Lane East announced it was selling up after over 70 years in business last week.

"I remember when the shop first opened as Whittaker's.

"Their pies and bread, in fact everything, was lovely.

"I hope the family enjoy their retirement and that whoever takes over keeps up the standard."

"The current owners deserve the best retirement they can get, I feel proud to have eaten from the best bakery on the Fylde coast.

"The new owners must keep the heritage alive and change nothing apart from the name- they've got very big shoes to step into."

Siblings Julia McDonald, Catherine Hughes and Andrew Taylor announced they would be hanging up their aprons after inheriting Taylor's bakery in 1977 from their parents.

Since then, over 600 comments from well-wishers were received on the story on the Gazette's Facebook page.

The three owners said they were "overwhelmed and humbled by everyone's response to the news" and thanked everyone for their continued support and help while the family wait to find a new buyer for the bakery.
