Smart IT, the ERP consultancy specialising in Odoo, said it has smashed its ambitious growth targets for the past financial year.

An impressive new business success rate of 90 per cent has helped it secure revenue growth of 50 per cent on the previous twelve months, while also doubling the size of its team and targeted Edinburgh and Vancouver.

Headquartered in Kirkham, Smart IT’s growth over the past year has resulted in 10 new recruits across a variety of roles, from ERP consultants to app developers.

Taking the team to 21 employees in total, mostly in the head office, this has driven the company to extend into the neighbouring offices and double the size of its premises.

Meanwhile, as a result of client demand for services in Edinburgh and Vancouver in Canada, Smart IT has opened new offices in both cities, generating international growth for the first time.

Smart IT delivers enterprise resource planning (ERP) solutions and IT services across a range of sectors. It is an Odoo Gold Partner, specialising in developing bespoke solutions using the open source ERP platform, which covers tailored functions for industries from smart energy to financial services and healthcare.

The firm said it plans to expand further with a target to triple revenues over the next five years, which will drive an increase in headcount from 21 to around 55 by 2024.

Barry Bullen, head of key accounts for the consultancy, said: “We know that we’re one of Odoo’s top three partners in Europe, but regardless, to win four of five of our new business pitches is an outstanding success rate. It speaks volumes both for the power and flexibility of Odoo’s software, and the talent and drive of the Smart IT team.

“We’re thrilled to have created 10 new jobs in the past year, most of them in the North West, and we have every intention of taking over the whole building soon. ERP software underpins the success of so many core business functions.”
