Fylde coast firms in finals

Firms from Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre have a strong showing the in the finals of a county wide business awards.

A total of 15 local firms area in the running for a variety of categories in the Red Rose Awards finals which will be held at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool.

They include Laila’s Fine Foods which is up for three awards, Blackpool and The Fylde College, Lloyd Motors Ltd, The Hot Tub Superstore, Colossal Training, MAC Clinical Research, Winter Gardens, Chard (1964) Ltd, Leonard Dews Jewellers, The Ink Squid, Freeport Fleetwood, Danbro, Lakeview Rest Homes, Trilanco Ltd and Farm Creative.

The successful businesses were announced after a day of rigorous pre-scoring at Northcote at the Rovers in Blackburn whittling down each category to six finalists for each award.

The 150 finalists will now face an interview and presentation stage across a further two judging days at the Red Rose Suite at Blackburn Rovers.

Winners will be announced at the ceremony which on March 12.

More than fifty judges, made up of sponsors, business leaders and independent experts, cast their expert eyes over the written entries to create the shortlist.

Judges said the decisions during the scoring of written entries were tougher, the stories bigger and the achievements greater than ever before.

Richard Slater, publisher of Lancashire Business View – the magazine behind the awards, said: “The entries we received this year were stronger than ever, and many businesses across this great county are recording strong performances.

“We are excited at the prospect of bringing the county together at the Winter Gardens on March 12 to celebrate the success of Lancashire business, form new relationships and have a fantastic night out!”
