Fylde beauty salon owner wins Beautician of the Year at the English Hair and Beauty Award

Rebecca Stott from the Temple Beauty Clinic in Great Eccleston enjoyed some well deserved time in the spotlight at Manchester’s Mercure Piccadilly Hotel in front of 700.

She won the Beautician of the Year 2018 for the North of England in the English Hair and Beauty Awards.

And the salon was shortlisted for Salon of the Year in the event which also raised money for the Make A Wish Foundation.

Rebecca, 31, founded the business in August 2013 after years of working in the industry for other big names.

After qualifying in 2005 she worked locally for five years in all aspects of beauty from salon and spa to clinical. She then worked at a resort clinic in Greece for seven months before moving to London to work at Sk:n Harley Street, atWigmore and at Canary Wharf.

Despite extensive experience, qualifications and now the award win, she admitted that her career had almost been accidental. She said: “I sor t of fell into it at first. I enjoyed the whole beauty thing when I was a teenager but was actually thinking of ging into nursery school work until I went to work at one in Thornton and loved it.”

On returning to the area, she opened Temple on a first floor premises.In December 2015, after two years in business we expanded our premises to double the size moving into the ground floor as well. It was important because we cater for all ages and some of our older ladies had difficulty with the stairs.

“We now have five treatment rooms and employ six people.

“We were delighted to win in the awards. We had actually been nominated in five categories. I would like to than the team here and the customers for their wonderful support.”

The awards recognise and celebrate those in the hair and beauty industry. Irfan Younis, CEO of Creative Oceanic which run them, said: “Every year the industry keeps growing and improving and it was great to see old faces and new come together at the awards.”
