Jonson Miller of Jonson Miller Capital said he has invested in the site, off West Moss Lane, at Higher Ballam as he believes the Fylde generally is set to bounce back after the coronavirus set-back.

His plan is to convert a former potato storage warehouse into eleven units which would be suitable for a variety of uses.

He has applied for planning permission from Fylde Council for the development project which would cost nearly £1m.

He said the site was ideal, close to Lytham but in a rural location which many businesses would appreciate.

And it would be a good location when the M55 Link Road is finally built improving connections to the motorway network.

He said: “I believe in the Fylde as a whole and I truly believe that our local economy will bounce back much faster than the majority of the UK.

“We have just submitted planning to create 11 new commercial units in Lytham which should create full time employment for approximately 40 members of staff from the local community and over 20 trades people throughout the build phase.

“This will encompass a nearly £1m pound investment in the local economy over the next 12 months. We have faith in the area and people within.”

Jonson, who has trading businesses as well as investment interests in property and business, added that the site would be a mixture of sales and rented units.

There would be two main sizes, 770sq ft and 1,540 sq ft but with some flexibility for particular tenants.

The Newton resident added: “It could be anything from a florists business to e-commerce, architects, surveyors, warehousing or light industrial.

“We have just put in for planning permission and if granted we are pretty much ready to start work. It should take about three months to do the groundwork and utilities and about the same to complete, so we could see people moving in by Christmas.”
