A decision willthen be made within seven days and granted licenses will usually run for six months.

Coun Shirley Green, chairman of Fylde Council’s public protection and licensing committees, said: “This is yet another measure from the Government that enables Fylde Council to assist our local businesses and I look forward seeing many of our eating and drinking establishments taking advantage of it.”

Applications must be made electronically and details are at www.fylde.gov.uk
