Bliss Perfect salon and Scarlett Jessica's Beauty Lounge, both on Caunce Street, started Fylde Opportunities Trust in a bid to support anyone who has experienced cancer on the Fylde coast.

42-year-old Lisa Holland, owner of Bliss Perfect, co-founded the non-profit Trust with best friend of 31 years Sarah Hill.

And while many businesses offering the same services within ten feet of each other may see themselves as competitors, neighbouring salon Scarlett Jessica's is also on board to help.

Lisa, mum to Blake, eight, said one of her motivations for starting the Trust was losing her own mum to ovarian cancer at the age of 68.

"I lost my lovely mum to cancer, and during her treatment journey she was lucky enough to attend an event where she could share her journey with others," Lisa explained.

"I knew that one day I would do something to put a smile on the face of other cancer patients too.

"We're offering beauty treatments and we have a space for fitness, yoga and well-being classes for anyone to take part in," Lisa continued.

"We're also hoping to plan coffee mornings to allow patients, friends and family to share their journey and support each other.

"Because of the pandemic, we have to rely on our own fundraising so we hope that local businesses will help us by providing raffle prizes, to enable us to offer our treatments."
