Blackpool bosses get set to skydive from 15,000ft to support mental health charity

Tom Hilton from social media marketing firm Intalinks and David Oakes from tanning studio Highfield Tanning are aiming to make the leap of faith and skydive 15,000ft to raise money for charity, Mind.

They are hoping to jump over the airfield at Cark airfield near Grange-over-Sands on July 18.

Tom said that both of their families had experience of mental health issues and with concerns being in the news recently with the death of TV presenter Caroline Flack, it was the time to be doing it.

He said: “I think during some point in our lives we have either gone through or going through or know someone who is currently going through some form of mental health.

"This is something that resonates deeply with both of us personally. It is important to try to remove the stigma surrounding mental health.

"Both of us have seen how much impact social media can make positively but also negatively to an individual or to a business.

Too many people still think they are on their own and don’t have the support they need to stay well, that’s why we have both decided to go out of our "comfort zone by Skydiving 15,000ft to support Mind and raise money for them, with your help we can make a huge impact and difference. "

He added that both businesses had a large social media reach and hoped that friends and clients would support them.
