Arts body LeftCoast and Think Forward, an ‘education endowment foundation’, have joined forces to offer 15 16 to 25-year-olds from Wyre the opportunity to complete a Gold Arts Award

The Supercharger programme will see Think Forward offer intensive personalised support from Arts Award advisers, as the local youths develop their arts practice and enhance their leadership skills by running their own projects.

The team will comprise five young people from Fleetwood and Cleveleys, five from Thornton and Poulton and five from Garstang and Over Wyre - being recruited between now and Christmas.

Think Forward director Buzz Bury said: “Participants will be supported to record their progress and achievement throughout the Gold Arts Award by creating their own portfolio.

“They can develop their own style and format – diary style, video, online, slide show presentation or anything else that works for them.

“It really is a great chance for young people to develop both their arts practice and leadership, work with other artists and at the end of it get a qualification that can help them reach university or even a job in the arts.”
