The Grand is out to deliver the ultimate Family Friendly theatre bill this year - over and above the big hitters, the touring drama and prestige performances, lined up.

It starts this weekend with Mister Maker, one of the most recognisable (for kids) characters on TV stepping from the small screen onto the stage for art adventures agogo with The Shapes and more.

Britain’s newest secret agent is off the leash in Blackpool on April 10 for Mission ImPUDSEYble, as the Britain’s Got Talent winners Ashleigh and Pudsey set out to defeat the evil Dr Feline and his cat burglars.

Gangsta Granny looks like wowing kids - and big kids at heart - for a full week (April 27-May 1) as Birmingham Stage Company presents the irrepressible David Walliams’ far-from-cuddly creation at the Grand.

No word of lie - Pinocchio comes to life on the stage on May 18 - presented by UK Ballet Theatre. The puppet who pined to be a real boy is set to a stunning score and should charm all ages.

A break with tradition sees Sadler’s Wells festival of hip hop dance theatre and culture Breakin’ Convention burst into Blackpool and even spill off the stage on May 21 with locals (Urban Dance Project and co) stepping out with world champion b-boy crew The Ruggeds (Netherlands) and more.

August brings a stampede, Dinosaur Zoo, The Gruffalo’s Child Live and Peppa Pig’s Surprise, very different family favourites.

September brings the fresh and funny Aliens Love Underpants based on the best selling children’s book adapted for stage and direct from London’s West End. Pants, it’s not.
