Batty operetta takes to Little stage
Die Fledermaus (The Bat) by Johann Strauss is regarded as one of the greatest of its genre due to combining bubbling melodies with an hilariously, ridiculous plot.
The plot follows the main character Gabriel’s descent into trouble and his friend Dr. Falke’s revenge.

In the course of the evening, Falke got extremely drunk and the pair left together. Instead of seeing his friend tucked up safely in bed, Gabriel deposited him on a bench in the centre of town.
When he awoke the townspeople were already milling around on their way to work and Falke became the laughing-stock of the town.
Die Fledermaus will be at Thornton Little Theatre on Thursday and Friday, November 24 and 25.
Tickets are priced at £15 for adults and £14 for concessions.
