Actor Ashley is living the Dream, girls...

Now he’s living the dream and sharing it with others.

He’s just been cast in the premiere of the Tony Award-winning musical, Dream Girls in The West End.

He will be appearing at the Savoy Theatre alongside Amber Riley, Aaron Reid and Liisi LaFontaine under a year long contract.

He admits: “It’s an absolute dream. I’m thrilled to be joining Dreamgirls.

“I can’t wait to be back in the West End with a brand new production straight from Broadway.”

Ashley’s just completed the European tour of Jesus Christ Superstar. He’s now off to South Korea with the Curve Production of Legally Blonde. And he’s writing the musical Mad On Her which has already sold out in Manchester.

But from August 1-12 he will be back on home turf to help run Scream Management’s two week Summer Challenge, teaching, directing and choreographing local youngsters aged six to 18.

They are more than likely to be inspired by his success. Ashley is a Scream Theatre School find himself and now represented by their Red Door Management division.

He has worked professionally since the age of nine.

At 11 he was working in Hollywood with Michelle Pfeiffer in the film I Could Never Be Your Woman.

He also played the original Michael - Billy’s openly gay friend - in Billy Elliot The Musical in the West End.

So the challenge represents a brilliant opportunity to work with Ashley and other West End professionals as well as have fun along the way.

The aspiring young actors will work towards a public showcase of dance, musical theatre and drama featuring extracts from popular West End musical pieces.

Tracey Bell, of Red Door Management, who founded Scream Theatre School in Blackpool in 1998 , says: “Ashley is a true performer and certainly a talent to be watched.

I am very blessed to have him in our team.”
