Martin Heywood, managing director of multi-award-winning Viva Blackpool, and the venue’s resident show compere and comedian, Leye D Johns, play a leading part in the new eight-part series, Money Pit, to be aired on UKTV’s comedy entertainment channel Dave.

Their involvement follows them both being involved in a trailer for the show, made by Avalon-owned producers, Liberty Bell, last year.

The groundbreaking show has been inspired by the crowd funding concept. Hosted by Jason Manford, who plays a ringmaster role within an arena setting, it sees 40 amateur investors and total strangers putting their own money on the line in a quest to back the fledgling businesses they believe in.

Martin said: “We hope viewers will find Money Pit compelling viewing, as we really enjoyed being involved and hope we brought some great comedy moments to the show. “

Leye added: “I think, at times, we took some contestants and fellow investors totally by surprise with our comments and reactions, but we stayed very true to who we are and what we believe in.

The first programme airs tonight at 7.30pm on Dave.
