New case of dance fever set to hit The Grand

Musical fans can prove just how deep is their love in the new year, as a new stage version of movie musical Saturday Night Fever comes to the Grand Theatre.

The musical revival features Bee Gees’ hits, Stayin’ Alive, Night Fever, Jive Talkin’, How Deep Is Your Love and You Should Be Dancing, and many more, all performed by a 20-strong cast of actor musicians.

Tickets are on sale now for the show which runs at the Church Street, Blackpool. theatre from Tuesday to Saturday, February 17 to 21.

Set in 1976 New York, the story sees Tony Manero, a young man from a tough Brooklyn neighbourhood with a dead-end job and an extraordinary ability to dance, has one ambition – to become the disco king.

Every Saturday night, Tony dons his flares and hits the dance floor, creating a stir as he wows the crowds.

When he meets Stephanie, who also dreams of a world beyond downbeat Brooklyn, the two decide to train together for a dance competition, whereupon their lives will change forever.

The smash-hit 1977 film starred Oscar-nominee John Travolta and inspired the definitive soundtrack by the Bee Gees. Saturday Night Fever captured the imagination of millions.
