The Blackpool-based band are celebrating signing to a new label, ahead of the release of their fourth studio album.

‘Shopping around’ for a new label to take their music to a wider audience, the Bombs have been signed by 7Hard and have high hopes of boosting their appeal around the world.

The Germany-based label will release album Mass Vendetta on April 15, following the appropriately-named lead single Trailblazer going to radio in January.

“The last two records we’ve released with two labels have both been British based,” the band’s Joey Class said. “They were getting stuff out but we wanted more with this new record.

“We shopped around and had a few labels interested.

“7Hard distributes in other countries’ markets, and their distribution partners are Sony and Universal - who doesn’t know who they are?

“That was it, decision made, we knew it had to be that one.”

Inspired by the likes of big, classic rock bands Aerosmith and AC/DC, as well as American and English 70s punk, The Senton Bombs know their appeal is potentially limited on home turf.

Yet, after more than a decade on the British gigging and festival scene, the band has in recent years enjoyed European success too, which Joey and his bandmates Damien Kage, Scott Mason and Johnny Gibbons hope to now build on.

“We have been gigging round England for a long time with a cult following, as our music’s hard rock which is not the current chart favourite,” Joey said.

“But with this label we know it can go into Europe and America as the music is more popular over there.

“Last year we went to Denmark, this year we’ve toured Germany and the Netherlands, and they have a big rock scene; their pop charts aren’t dominated by Justin Bieber or Rihanna.”

After the Christmas break, the band will be back in the boardroom with 7Hard to work on the details of their marketing campaign for the release.

Joey added: “The label seem really confident, and we’re pleased with the album too. It’s a bit more diverse, with metal, punk and hard rock all on their.

“We’re going to be giving it as much as possible, and are starting to eye up bigger things - so who knows where it will lead?”
