The first print run of Test Flying in Lancashire – Volume 2, which charts the achievements of pilots working for BAE Systems and its predecessor firms in the 70s and 80s, has sold out having been published by BAE Systems’ Heritage Department in July.

The first volume, which covered the period from the First World War into the 1960s, also went to a reprint due to demand.

Author Jim Longworth, an aviation historian and former Lancashire County Council worker, said: “We have been delighted by the demand for Volume 2 which is raising even more money for local charities. The first volume raised more than £3,000.”

It is available from Waterstones, Blackpool, Plackitt & Booth, Lytham and SilverDell, Kirkham priced £15.
