Coronation Street star Malcolm Hebden, who plays busybody Norris Cole in the TV soap opera, left the streets of Weatherfield on Saturday to visit Garstang.

Malcolm, who lives in Whalley, took part in a fundraiser for Garstang Arts Centre, being interviewed in front of a 70-strong audience at the venue about his career in theatre, radio and TV.

Interviewer for the event was his former drama tutor and long-standing friend Professor James Dodding of Garstang.

The fundraiser, held at Garstang Arts Centre, was organised by Professor Dodding, Alex Miller and Anthony Coppin and raised £350.
