Have your say

Lytham St Annes Choral Society has started rehearsals for the autumn concert of Haydn’s Mass In Time of War (Drum roll mass) and Elgar’s The Music Makers.

It meets every Tuesday in St Annes United Reformed Church, Hall, in St George’s Road, St Annes from 7.30 until 9.30pm each Tuesday.

Voices in all sections are welcomed to join.

For further information please contact Eddie Taylor, Secretary on (01253) 729982.

And Elswick Singers is looking for male tenor and bass singers to join them on a Tuesday evening at Elswick Village Hall at 7.15pm.

Prospective members – who don’t need to read music or have an audition – are initially invited to join the singers at rehearsals for approximately six weeks.

After this trial period a decision is taken by the musical director whether to offer a permanent membership to the choir.

The singers have been performing for over 25 years as a non profit making choir, performing for charitable fund raising events, and for private functions.

They perform their own concerts twice a year at summer and Christmas time.

Having just returned to rehearsals after a short summer break they are currently starting to rehearse for their Christmas concerts, making it an ideal time for new members to become part of a very
sociable group of people, plus an enjoyable, pleasant way to spend a Tuesday evening.

* If you think you would like to join go along on the next Tuesday available to you or, contact the choir secretary Val Hamilton on (01253) 622711.
