Close to 900 people watched on at the Last Night of the Proms spectacular in Freckleton.
The event marked various commemorations in the village, including 50 years since the start of the Freckleton Club Day Sports Committee, 50 years since the start of the Freckleton Half-Marathon – the oldest event of its type in the UK – and 70 years since the village’s tragic air disaster.
Event co-ordinator Patricia Knight said the show, which included performances from the village’s junior and senior bands, had been a huge success.
She added: “It was excellent. We had a good turn-out, around 850 people, while all the performances were very good, including Starfish, the Freckleton Junior Brass Band, Freckleton Senior Brass Band and Nicola Howard.
“I was very pleased with how everything went, except for the weather, which was more like November than August – fortunately we only had one bad rain shower.
“People were impressed and some have even asked if it will return next year.
“Everybody was really positive and the club day committee worked very hard.”
