EXTRA security was drafted in to protect an A-List star’s arrival in Blackpool.
Film star Robert Pattinson has been immortalised for a resort attraction, this time not as an undead vampire but as a wax figure at Madame Tussauds.
Visitors will recognise Robert Pattinson’s waxy pallor from his starring role as vampire Edward Cullen in the Twilight movies.
Two security guards were on hand to mind the figure, giving the launch a real red-carpet feel yesterday morning.
Matthew Titherington, general manager at Madame Tussauds Blackpool, said: “RPatz has brought Hollywood glamour to our best of British room.
“We made the decision to draft in additional security following advice of other Madame Tussauds attractions which had previously launched his figure to huge crowds.”
Students from Blackpool and the Fylde College were invited to the launch to see the Harry Potter and Twilight star.
The lifelike figure took four months to create, at a cost of £150,000.
RPatz will be on display at the attraction to the end of November, before embarking on a ‘world tour’ of other Madame Tussauds.
