Celebrity chef Ainsley Harriott will be sharing his memories of childhood seaside holidays in Blackpool on a new BBC One show.
Holiday of My Lifetime will see Strictly’s Len Goodman leading a line up of celebrity guests down memory lane to relive their favourite summer holidays.
Ainsley will share his memories of sandcastles on the beach, fish ‘n’ chips and the Pleasure Beach alongside Esther Rantzen on the Isle of Wight, Arlene Philips, Southport, and Ann Widdecombe, the Lake District.
They’ll reveal why the sights, sounds and smells of destinations bring back fond memories of holidaying as a child.
Len Goodman said: “It’s been a real joy exploring the wonderful UK with personalities from across TV, radio and sport, reliving some of their humorous and heart-warming memories.
“This series will showcase the fun of a traditional summer holiday, harkening back to times when the simple things – like the smell of fish and chips or a bucket and spade – made all the difference to a child.
“It’s was a joy to spend the summer travelling up and down the UK taking a nostalgic look at holidays as they used to be, from braving the Big Dipper with Ainsley Harriott in Blackpool to rock-pooling with Esther Rantzen on the Isle of Wight.
“By sampling these simple pleasures of the past we get a glimpse of how these precious moments made the celebrities the people they are today.”
