Acclaimed photographer Simon Roberts was in Blackpool this afternoon to talk about his photographic exhibition, called Pierdom, which is now on at The Grundy gallery until September 27.
It is part of a national exhibition featuring different seaside venues, showing selections of the artist’s massive photos of piers from around the nation’s coastline.
The Blackpool exhibition includes local and Southport piers.
He gave a talk, followed by a walking tour to North Pier to learn more about the history of the piers, led by Blackpool Local and Family History Librarian Tony Sharkey.
There is also currently a colourful exhibition by award winning poet and acclaimed artist Heather Phillipson featuring in the main gallery.
