Have your say

What’s that I hear you say? You’d like it if another top comedian was coming to these parts...

Well it’s your lucky day because a short trip along the M55 to Preston next month and you’ll be able to check out Mark Watson.

King of the piffy one-liner (“I saw a poster for Mission Impossible III the other day. I thought, ‘it’s not impossible if he’s already done it twice’.”) and one of the best comics around, the 32-year-old is heading to 53 Degrees on Monday February 11, as part of UCLan’s environmental awareness ’Green Week’ (11-15 February).

Bristol-born Watson, 32, learned his trade as a member of the Footlights at Cambridge University and was nominated Best Newcomer in the Perrier Comedy Awards at the 2001 Edinburgh Festival Fringe

Known for his quirky and unusual delivery, Watson’s profile has risen massively over the last decade thanks to several major TV appearances and some lucrative adverts (he does voiceovers for Innocent drinks and Magners ciders commercials).

He’s also done the round of the usual panel shows, a regular faces on the likes of 8 Out Of 10 Cats, Mock The Week, Never Mind The Buzzcocks, and a headline spot on Live At The Apollo.

>> Tickets for Mark Watson’s show on February 11 (7.30pm-11pm) are priced £15 if bought in advance. More information at Purchase tickets at
